More Etsy Finds I'm Going to Make (Someday)

I have already made a cute version of this. I used two round gift boxes of different sizes, painted the lid of one black and the base modge-podged with book paper. the smaller is vice-versa with a small glass knob on top. Super cute!

I'll probably do a different word- maybe Christmas themed, like JOY or MIRACLE
for my beach bathroom :)
So much crafting to do! So little time!

Jury Duty

I was called in for jury duty today. I got up before the sun and drove an hour to my home town- coffee in hand and KLove playing worship music on the radio. My number was called and I was a little excited. I was curious how the whole process works and eager to serve my country. Unfortunately the case was going to go for about a week, which, as a college student already a month into the semester, would have been really difficult to deal with. The judge gave us opportunity to express if we believed we should be excused. I spoke up, was excused and was outta there before noon.

Picked some flowers from home to make my home a little homier

Since I was in my home town, was excused from classes and in need of some free food, I called up my parents to find out what they were up to. :) I met daddy at his shop and was able to sit and chat with him for over an hour. He was so busy, even eating on the run, but he took time to sit down with his little girl. I'm so blessed. When daddy had to get back to work I drove home and spent the afternoon with my momma. It was so good to smell the country air again, pet my cat, give my puppy a belly rub and drink coffee with my momma at the kitchen table. I feel so relaxed and rejuvenated- all thanks to a jury summons :)

By the way, God is so beautiful!

No Oven? No Problem!

Jeff and I are LOVING our new apartment! One of the things I was originally worried about was our kitchen not having an oven. But things are working out great so far! Our toaster oven is awesome :)

I used to be scared of cooking too. I was always the one getting kicked out of the kitchen; mom and Rachel enjoyed it more anyway and were better at it. And then... there was the grilled cheese. I attempted to make myself an innocent grilled cheese sandwich. Well, lets just say, some how all the cheese ended up melted in the pan and where my whole wheat use to be was a pile of charcoal... I haven't tried one since.

Well, i still havent tried the grilled cheese, but I am starting to cook and experiment :) For example, last night i made some fantastic baked chicken marinaded in Yumm! sauce. Seems easy enough, and it is. The toaster oven is easier to use than i thought, not a whole lot of difference from an oven, except that it wont fit any of the nice pans and cookie sheets we got for our wedding. :(

Oh, and Yumm! Sauce is just about the most amazing and versatile thing ever! I L.O.V.E. it!!! So if you are ever wondering what you want to gift me (if you dont want to get me craft store or American Eagle gift cards) I'd love a bottle of Yumm!!!!

Today I'm making cookies while Jeff is off at work. He got a job at Les Schwab! God is so good! He meets all of our needs in such wonderful ways. For now I'm a student and a stay at home wife :) who needs to go look for a job...ugh.

I'm really excited to see friends and family tomorrow! Jeff turns 21 and we are having an ultimate Frisbee party followed by smores around the fire pit. Party=sweets, hence cookies and Jeff and I will be making his favorite cake tonight- German Chocolate :) Married life is great!!

My little Boo

This is my sister...
She is the most beautiful girl I know, both inside and out. The funny thing is, she doesnt realize it.
I mean seriously, look at this beautiful young lady!
I want the world, but especially my little Boo, to know that she is fantastic.
She has the most beautiful and giving heart I have ever met.
She's not afraid to be herself and love her God.
Her laughter brings joy, her hugs bring a deep sense of love and belonging.
My sister is crazy, fun, and incredibly creative. I can't even tell you how artistic she is.
We have spent the last 18 years being sisters. There were the tough times but I wouldn't trade a moment with her for anything.
My little Boo is all grown up now, a big college student in her little dorm room.
I cant help but miss our carefree crazy childhood sometimes. Wasn't it yesterday we spend hours upon hours playing in an empty fridge box? (we were teenagers at that time by the way) :)
I pray that the Lord will protect and care for my little Boo. I pray He will rain down all the blessings of heaven on her precious life and give her back all the joy she has given to me and more.

Boo, I love you to the stars and back again, never ending times a million!

I would have despaired unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; be strong and let your heart take courage; yes, wait for the Lord. -Psalm :27:13-14

Oh taste and see that the Lord is good; how blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him! -Ps. 34:8

Why are you in despair, O my soul? And why are you disturbed within me? Hope in God, for I shall again praise Him, the help of my countenance and my God. -Ps. 43:5

Trust in Him at all times O people; pour out your heart before Him; God is refuge for us. - Ps. 62:8
