Psalm 23

Psalm 23

New International Version

A psalm of David.
1 The LORD is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
2 He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,
 3 he refreshes my soul.
He guides me along the right paths
   for his name’s sake.
4 Even though I walk
   through the darkest valley,[a]
I will fear no evil,
   for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
   they comfort me.
5 You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
   my cup overflows.
6 Surely your goodness and love will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the LORD
   forever.

Time is Ticking Away

http://www.flickr.com/photos/iintrigue/3474586092/
Only 26 more days! and the To Do List is still huge!!!! But I'm more than excited for our big day to get here! Time seems too short and too long all at the same time!
I had two bridal showers this last week and a friends wedding to go to. It was such a great weekend :) Presents and love. :) I'll post more about bridal showers later- thank you to Nikki, Rachel, and Olivia for throwing the party, and all the family members who helped too!- I'm going to go finish working on something that looks a little like this:

Morning Bike Ride

I love where I live. I feel so blessed to have grown up in the country, a beautiful environment, and a wonderful community. One of my favorite things to do is to go running on these old roads with my faithful running companion, Jocie. This morning I decided to do something a little different. I took my bike, but Poor Jo couldnt keep up so she got to relax in the shade. :) It was a beautiful ride, hard work, but that's good. Gotta get in shape for my wedding dress! :)

My cute little Jocie :)

She loves car rides almost more than morning runs :)

How To's :)

On my last post I had a friend who was curious on how to make the cute wood signs, well, it's easy and fun and shouldnt take more than an afternoon and thing you might be able to find in your garage!
Here's some we made for my wedding, the process would be the same for any other sign you would want to make.like this one I love so much :)
1.) find an old board- old is best, in my opinion because the grain adds character and charm. Chose one that will fit your space.
2.) paint the board white, a thin coat so that the grain of the wood shows through a bit. that gives it the antique look. solid white is cute too! which ever strikes your fancy :)
3.) after the base coat dries, add another coat of paint if necessary. always let paint dry between coats.
4.) find a lettering stencil that you like (at any craft store). or, a cheaper option, print out the words using your computer in whichever font you want. use transfer paper (found at the craft store. it has graphite on the back so that when you trace your letter there is an outline left behind. directions are on the package) to transfer your letters to the white board then use black (or whatever color) paint to fill in your stenciled letters.
----->another method when using a stencil is to use a sponge. place your letter stencil when you want it, tape or hold the stencil firmly down so that paint doesnt leak under the edge, and blot paint (make sure your sponge isnt too wet) until the letter is filled in.
------> you can always free hand the letters as well. i suggest drawing them lightly in pencil before painting them on.
5.) let dry!
6.) Display! show off your masterpiece! :)

This is the other cute little frame i want to make, this one is simple as well, even simpler than the signs :)
1.) The Frame- buy a frame, whatever size you like.
Or, find an old frame you already have that needs a makeover:
To paint a frame: spray paint works best on metal frames and is the easiest to use on all frames.
make sure to take out the glass and the backing. If the backing is attached to the frame it might be better to hand paint it. :)
2.) The Wording- print the wording from your computer on to card-stock or picture paper. Picture paper will add a professional look to your art. Have fun with the wording, font, size and color!

Two great, fun and easy (and relatively cheap) ways to add a little art to your life :)

I Wants It!!!

Some of my newest Etsy finds that I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to have in my new home!!!
great reminder to BE in the moment and enjoy your love here and now- dont live for the future.
I love little containers. I love having a place for everything, and it's even better when that lil place is this cute!
I'm totally making this
classic charm and class above a desk, vanity, table or bed- so many options!
how cool is it to store magazines in an explosives box! ok, or put anything in an old explosives box!
I'm definitely making this for above our bed or on our mantle.
this color always catches my eye
there's something so cool about hanging a window frame on an empty wall. or, add a screen and some hooks and it's a handy and cute jewelry hanger

Jesus Provides Pizza

I finally got a job! I shouldn't say finally because it is exactly the right time-God's timing. I was hired by Roaring Rapids Pizza Co. It's a super fun, family oriented pizza place on the Willamette river. They even have a carousel! and i get to run it! I love working in a fast paced, positive environment around families-kids are just so stinkin' cute! The Lord has truly blessed my with this job- not only in that its a fun place to work, that i have friends who work there but also because they have an incredibly flexible schedule and are giving me time off for my wedding and honeymoon! What a blessing! The Lord is soooooooo good!!! I cant say it enough! I dont know why i go through seasons of doubt and fear because the Lord always always is good and He always always provides in the most perfect way in the the most perfect timing. did i mention He is good? :D

Antique Love

I dont know what it is about antiques that make me so happy. There's just something about old stuff with character that I cant resist! Ok, well, when I dont have money I can resist :) Antique looking things are all the rage right now- the whole "shabby chic" fad which means I can find similar items in department stores for bran-spankin' new! But faking old charm often takes the appeal away for me. Plus nothing can replace a fun outing with my bestie, hunting through aisles of junk for that perfect treasure.
I spent the morning, yesterday, drinking a Dutch Bros Kicker, walking through many antique "malls" with my best friend, Nikki. We found SOOOO many fun things we loved! I had a list in my head of a handful of things that would look perfect in my apartment. Some of them I can make my self: like this cute sign:
I like the bench it is sitting on too :) It's been repainted- I think that's another part of antiques I love, thinking of creative uses for them and fixing them up!

Nikki and I have this tradition to take pictures of ourselves in funny hats and tiaras when we go antiquing.

and here's a couple from the past:

Love you Nikki-poo! :)
