Summer To-Do

I love To-Do lists. They keep me organized, they keep me sane, and I LOVE checking off the boxes when a task is completed. Usually my check lists aren't very fun: laundry, dishes, go running, etc. But I found this cute inspiration on Pinterest and had to make it!
From eighteen25
Here's what you do:

First find a frame you like. I had a long frame like the one above that I wasn't using, but you could use any size frame you want.

I had to paint my frame white because black isn't in my decor.

Print out the FREE PRINTABLE from eighteen25's blog.

Place in frame! make sure to clean and dry the glass thoroughly.

The original above wrote on the paper print out in black pen and then placed it in the frame. I wanted to be able to use mine again as well as add to the list as Jeff and I thought of new ideas. So I just grabbed a dry erase marker and scribbled all over the glass!

Here's how mine turned out:

If you can't read the picture, here are a few thing's on our Summer To-Do list...

Go Camping, Go Swimming, Celebrate our 1st Anniversary, Finish LOST, Visit a Fruit Stand, Visit Grandparents, Get Ripped ;), Make Homemade Ice Cream, Go to the Beach, Write a Love Note, Read a Book Together, Go Rock Wall Climbing, Have a Picnic with Friends, etc.

It's going to be a great summer! What's on your To-Do list?

Wedding Hangover

...but in a good way. :) I LOVE weddings! I was sad once all the planning for my own was over, but then very excited as many of my friends began getting engaged! I posted earlier about my friend Emily's wedding that i helped with, and absolutely loved doing! My best friend Nikki is getting married in a month and I'm hoping she'll give me some projects to work on because I'm already having withdrawals! lol

Because I love weddings so much it seems only fitting that I give the top 10 from my Pinterest board "Wedding Hangover" that I would do if I did my wedding over. (By the way, I absolutely loved EVERYTHING about my wedding! There are just so many great ideas out there!)

#1) Find a beautiful old barn and cover the ceiling with lights.

And I LOVE these love family-style wood tables, flowing table cloths and wood chairs.

These chandeliers are to die for! so pretty!

p#2) Do something cuter for my bridesmaids.
#3) Done this for my photo booth...
#4) I love coffee. Like LOVE. I would have done these favors if I had had the budget:
#5) Done this for my aisle- love love all the petals!
#6) had buttons on my dress. that is the only thing i would have changed about it :)
#7) Had ring bearers or sign carriers.
I just didn't have enough little kids in my family.

#8) Have a better exit.

We didn't really have a exit. we basically drove out of the garage as people waved goodbye. I would have liked to run through a tunnel having people throw confetti, wave flags or whatever and cheer :)

#9) Get this picture...
#10) Had a horse drawn carriage <3

I only get one wedding, and I loved mine. It's fun to relive my own and see new ideas through my friends' weddings. Hmmm, maybe a 10 year vow renewal?  I already have the ring picked out.....
Ok, maybe 20 year anniversary. :)

Coffee and Books and a Wedding

Coffee and books are two of my favorite things. When you add to that combination my favorite person (my husband) it is a pretty awesome day.

We drove downtown to the Book Bin (a really awesome bookstore that I like to roam around in when i get the chance) and we picked out a book to read together. Jeff found the one pictured above, "Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close." We bought it and took it to The Beanery where we ordered a Raspberry mocha shake and read the first chapter together. We had both heard that it was a great book and neither of us has seen the movie yet (we are the type that like to read the book first if we can before watching the movie) and let me tell you- this is a great book, and we're only one chapter in! It is told from the perspective of a smart, imaginative young boy who has just lost his father in the 9/11 attacks. His voice- the manner in which the story is told- has all the endearing qualities of a child- humor, creativity and honesty. I can't wait to read more and give you a better review of the book as well as the movie!

Weddings and love are also some of my very favorite things...

One of my sweetest (seriously, she is one of the nicest people I know) was married this past weekend. I've spent the last month or more helping her with wedding crafts as well as just spending time with her. It has been such a privilege to get to know her this past year and then be able to help so much with her big day! i love you Emily!

Just after their first look <3
Emily and i made this chalkboard out of a cabinet door for over the dessert table. I did all the "chalk art."

And I found two matching cabinet doors for $1! They made perfect wall decor.

Emily and I made this sign together for the little ones to carry down the asile. The other side says "Just Married"

For a guest book they used a Bible and had everyone circle a favorite verse and write a message in the margins. LOVE that idea!

my handsome husband was one of the groomsmen

some of my favorite girls!

After the ceremony the bride and groom served everyone Orange Floats.

Orange is Joe's favorite color, blue is Emily's.

Nikki and I worked the gift table together. i miss my bestie! About a month until she gets married!

Old Book --> Frame

My bestie is getting married next month! She is going to be my sister! For Christmas (yes this post is very late) i made her this picture frame out of an old book, and I almost kept it I liked it so much :)
Basically i took an old book, sketched how big i wanted the holes and took my exato knife to the pages. Then I pasted the picture in one side, left room for her picture and modge-podged the pages so they were stiff. I think I'll need to make another one of these...

Pesto Pizza on Peta Bread

Jeff and I had a bunch of friends over on Tuesday so i needed something easy and delicious to serve. By following my latest craving for Pesto I found this recipe from The Lovely Cupboard and modified it a bit to make it quicker and more me :)

I bought Peta bread (sigh, Hunger Games- soooo good. Okay back to food) spread a good amount of pesto as sauce and then spread Parmesan cheese, olives, chicken, tomato and a crumbly-savory-cheese (i cannot remember the name of) all over. Since I didn't have raw dough to cook, I put them in the oven at 350 for 5-10 to toast the bread and melt the cheese.

Served alongside salad and followed up with fudge popsicles, it was the perfect summer time dinner.
Enjoy!
